Recognition of women’s cultural leadership
“In recognition of her contribution to promoting Italian culture around the world, her ability to champion innovative models of female leadership, and the role she has played in strengthening international cultural dialogue”, the Orizzonti Foundation, chaired by Giuseppe Menniti, has awarded the Leucian Honour to conductor Beatrice Venezi. This is an international award established to honour individuals who have distinguished themselves in the protection of human rights, the promotion of gender equality, cultural diplomacy and the upholding of human dignity. The Leucian Honour award ceremony took place in the Upper Vestibule of the Royal Palace of Caserta during the first edition of the international forum “The Leucian Dialogue. Women, Diplomacy & Cultural Leadership”.
“As a Conductor, pianist and cultural ambassador, Beatrice Venezi is one of the most influential figures on the contemporary music scene and one of the most significant representatives of Italian cultural leadership on the international stage,” reads the award citation – Her career is characterised by a constant artistic output that has led her to conduct prestigious orchestras and musical institutions across Europe and around the world, contributing to the dissemination of Italy’s cultural heritage through the universal language of music. Her vision combines professional excellence, communicative skill and a particular focus on promoting the role of women in artistic and cultural contexts traditionally characterised by a lower female presence. Through her commitment, Beatrice Venezi has helped to strengthen dialogue between different cultures, promoting music as a means of bringing people together, fostering mutual understanding and facilitating international cooperation. Her work stands as a concrete example of how art can serve as a vehicle for cultural diplomacy and for building bridges between peoples and institutions.”.
